This morning, cadets from the Glasgow and Lanarkshire Army Cadet Force gathered at Glasgow's Garden of Remembrance in George Square for the two-minute silence.
Meanwhile, an Armistice Day service was held in Glasgow Central Station for its annual tribute.
Veterans and invited guests were joined by onlookers and commuters in a two-minute silence at 11am.
The station, which has a war memorial, was the departure point for many men and women who went off to war.
Armistice Day is held on the 11th day of the 11th month every year to mark the agreement which brought about the end of the First World War.
Glasgow's Remembrance Sunday service will be held in George Square on Sunday, November 12 from 11am to 11.45am.
The ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph with a wreath laying and then a parade and salute in front of the City Chambers.
