THE Glasgow Times is calling on our kind-hearted readers to help support families who are struggling to put food on the table this Christmas. 

Recyclable paper bags have been placed inside every copy of today's Glasgow Times newspaper as part of our annual Bank on Us campaign. 

These bags can be filled with non-perishable food items and handed in to any of our food bank partners across Glasgow and the surrounding area.

As well as the food drive, the Glasgow Times will be raising money for our Bank of Us toy drive via GoFundMe. 

Last year, the campaign brought in around £15,000 and delivered around 100,000 gifts to our most vulnerable children. 

The Bank on Us 2023 campaign is proudly sponsored by Arnold Clark, Stagecoach, Allied Vehicles, Spar Scotland, Storage Vault and StepChange.

Stacey Mullen, editor of the Glasgow Times, said: "Today marks the release of our paper Bank on Us donation bags and we’re hopeful all of our readers will get involved.

"It’s been another difficult year and we want to do all we can to help struggling families have a merry Christmas so we're delighted the bags are finally in the paper.

"We're truly grateful for anyone who is able to donate towards our food drive."

 

All donations received through the campaign will be handed out to people who will be relying on vital food banks across Glasgow and its surrounding areas this Christmas.

Those who are not able to take part in the food drive can choose to donate money towards our toy bank on GoFundMe HERE if they are able to.

All proceeds will be used to purchase toys which will be distributed to charities around the city to be handed out to parents and put under the tree so every child in Glasgow has a present to open on December 25.

We will be speaking with our sponsors over the coming weeks, as well as those in charge of running our food banks partners.
