A woman has been knocked down on Glasgow's Great Western Road.
Police swarmed the area after the alarm was raised this morning at around 11am.
She was rushed to hospital for treatment while emergency services shut down the road for hours.
The woman's age and condition remains unknown at this time.
The incident happened close to the retail park leaving shoppers horrified as some criticised the roads safety.
The road has now re-opened to drivers in the area.
One person said: "It was a woman that was knocked down. It is really sad."
A second person said: "That road is so dangerous. People are always darting across it after being at the retail park but the cars go so fast."
Third person said: "The road is a nightmare to cross because the lights take ages to change so people don't always use them.
“I don't know if that is what happened today but they need to make it safer."
Fourth person said: "Really sad stuff to hear so someone has been hurt. Police stayed on the road for a while."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11am on Wednesday, 15 November, 2023, we received a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Great Western Road, Glasgow near to the retail park.
"A woman was taken to hospital for treatment. The road re-opened around 3pm. Enquiries are ongoing."
