A SEX attacker was told by a judge his apologies to his victims had come "very late" as he was jailed for seven years.
Darren White was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had earlier been convicted of raping a woman at a flat in Clydebank on August 19, 2020.
The 26-year-old had also been found guilty at the same trial of a charge of sexually assaulting a second female at the same property in June 2015.
His lawyer Sean Templeton today said White - who denied the crimes forcing his victims to testify - now "wished to make an apology" to both.
But, judge Lady Rae remarked: "A bit late, is it not?"
The defence advocate replied: "I appreciate that it is late...but, having been remanded in custody (after trial), it was at this point he reflected on the evidence and how he ended up in that position."
Mr Templeton added being behind bars had "hit" White "extremely hard".
Sentencing, Lady Rae praised the "bravery" of both women giving evidence against their attacker.
She told White: "You have been convicted of serious sexual offences.
"Your behaviour clearly escalated to one of the most serious charges the high court has to deal with."
The judge added White "did not have the right" to force the women when "they had clearly said no".
She said: "Both have been significantly affected by what you did.
"Your apology is very late indeed although you have had the decency to do so."
White, also of Clydebank, was sentenced to five and a half years for the rape and 18 months for the sexual assault - both terms to run consecutively.
White was also put on the sex offenders list indefinitely.
