A MAN has appeared in court accused of raping a woman in Glasgow city centre.
Mihai-Nicolae Patran made no plea at a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 32-year-old, who has no fixed address, is charged with rape and sexual assault.
He was remanded in custody and committed for further examination.
We previously reported that cops taped off Mitchell Street on Sunday, with the incident happening between 5.20am and 6.10am.
Detective Sergeant Gillian Nixon said: “Our enquiries are continuing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
“If you have information that could help with our investigation then please contact us via 101, quoting incident number 0820 of Sunday, November 26, 2023, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
