TWO people have been rushed to hospital after a horror three-car smash in Renfrew this afternoon.
It comes after emergency crews were made aware of the accident on High Street in the town just after 12pm on Wednesday, November 29.
In total, two fire vehicles were sent to the scene where firefighters worked to make the area safe before leaving.
Specialist ambulance crews were also sent.
Two people were taken to hospital for treatment.
We previously reported that 999 crews were pictured on the scene earlier today.
Meanwhile, McGill's buses were also advising customers that due to the closure of the westbound carriageway of High Street, travellers should instead board the 21 service on Sandy Road and the 23 and X23 on Inchinnan Road.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.04pm to attend an incident on High Street, Renfrew.
"Two ambulances and a special operations response team (SORT) were dispatched to the scene and two patients were transported to the Royal Alexandria Hospital."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue added: "We were alerted at 12.03pm on Wednesday, November 29, to reports of a road traffic collision in Renfrew.
"Operations control mobilised two appliances to the town's High Street, where firefighters were met by a collision involving three vehicles.
"Crews worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene."
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
