THE first events and screening for the 20th Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) have been announced.
The festival will take place at Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT) and venues across the city from Wednesday, February 28 until Sunday, March 10.
The festivals legendary special events return with two films celebrating two landmark years in Glasgow Film's history.

In 1939 the Cosmo cinema, now the GFT, opened and to mark its 85th anniversary movie fans can enjoy a magical screening of Victor Fleming's technicolour masterpiece The Wizard of Oz.
GFF will also host a tribute screening of John Waters' Female Trouble which celebrates its 50th anniversary along with GFT which was first established in 1974.
The free morning retrospective returns for 2024 with Our Story So Far, a journey through time with 10 classic titles from each anniversary in Glasgow Film's history, including Mr Smith Goes to Washington, Wuthering Heights and Only Angels Have Wings.

Each year, GFF shines a light on global cinema and this year the festival's Country of Focus is Czechia.
The titles screened will include radical feminist film Daisies, documentary Is There Any Place For Me, Please? and dystopian sci-fi Restore Point.
Czechia's official submission to the 2024 Academy Awards for Best International Film Brothers will also be shown.
Allison Gardner, CEO of Glasgow Film and Director of GFF, will programme GFF24 alongside a group of emerging voices in the Scottish film festival scene including Christopher Kumar, Tomiwa Folorunso, Natasha Thembiso Ruwona, Heather Bradshaw and Rosie Beattie.
Allison said: "I am overjoyed to select titles for the 20th edition of the festival alongside a group of programmers with such vibrant and innovative ideas.
"Each programmer has been able to make their unique stamp on the upcoming festival through our popular Special Events, famous Retrospectives and rich Czech titles."
Tickets for the special events will go on sale at 1pm on Wednesday, December 13 at glasgowfilm.org/home.
