Rail passengers were left “really anxious” after facing major delays at Glasgow Central.
Festive travellers were forced to wait in the rain as massive queues appeared out the door this afternoon.
It comes after disruption, caused by Storm Gerrit, halted services across the country over the past two days.
The Glasgow Times visited the station and spoke to customers trapped in the queue to ask about their experiences.
One artist, who lives in the Southside of Glasgow, told us how she desperately has to get home to care for her sick mother in Preston.
Multiple services she booked this week have been cancelled leaving her “anxious” and concerned.
She explained: "We are all queuing outside in the rain, people are waiting right down the street outside the station.
“So many people are just struggling it is a nightmare.
“My mums not well, she's been in the hospital. It has been a nightmare, that is why I am so anxious to get a train to Preston.
“It is hard because I keep walking from Govanhill to the station just to be told the train is cancelled again, it is really disheartening.
“Everyone here is really anxious, wet, grouchy, and tired. A lot of people are trying to travel after Christmas. It is not nice.”
Mhairi, another delayed passenger, said: “I’m due to go back to London today, my train was cancelled.
“I came to the station hoping to get a seat on the earlier or later service, along with everyone else.
“There’s big queues but we are trying to remain in good spirits.
“The queue went from the platform right round to the Union Street entrance, it is a knock on effect from all of yesterday's cancellations.”
Commuter Glen told the Glasgow Times: “I came up here and had a lovely Christmas, but now it is time to go back to London.
“I came down and saw all the cancelled trains and realised I wouldn’t be getting back home.
“I have come back today but I booked a flight incase I can’t get on the train again. It is good to have a backup.
“I have been lucky because I have been staying with my lovely girlfriend's parents, but I feel really bad for people needing hotels.”
Laura, another passenger, said: “Travelling from Stewart to London.
“There is a huge queue. I don't know what is going to happen. We have all been delayed so far.”
An Avanti West Coast spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to our customers affected by the cancellations and delays at Glasgow Central following the disruption caused by Storm Gerrit.
"We would like to thank our customers for their patience and remind them if they’re delayed by 15 minutes or more to claim delay repay compensation.
"Any customers making journeys between Glasgow and London today (28 December) are strongly advised to check before they travel.”
