A busy Asda superstore has been forced to close its doors suddenly after a system failure caused its till system to go down.
Shoppers at Asda Clydebank were 'asked to leave' by management whilst they shut the outlet as there was no way for customers to pay for their goods.
And by 3.30 pm, the Glasgow Times was told by locals the supermarket was closed to customers until further notice.
An Asda spokesperson confirmed the sudden closure and explained they were working hard to get the place open again for the weekend.
They said: "We've had to temporarily close our Clydebank store due to a technical issue.
"We're working hard to re-open as soon as possible and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
