The BBC Asian Network will host a live comedy show in Glasgow's city centre on February 29.

Performed at The Glee Club on Renfrew Street, the show will be hosted by Asian Network’s Noreen Khan, and Glaswegian comedian and actress Lubna Kerr.

Asian Network’s Noreen Khan said: "I am so excited about co-hosting the BBC Asian Network comedy night in Glasgow.

"The Glaswegian audience will absolutely love the line-up and they're always up for a good laugh."

The line-up includes 2022’s New Act of The Year and BBC New Comedy Award finalist Joshua Bethania, and Manchester’s rising star and BBC New Comedy Award Semi Finalist 2023, Faizan Shah.

Ms Kerr described Glasgow as "a city of culture, colour and curries," adding that she is thrilled that BBC Asian Network are having their comedy night in the city.

She added: "Delighted and excited to be co-hosting the show with the wonderfully talented Noreen Khan, alongside a brilliant line-up of fantastic Asian comedians on the circuit, I canny wait."

Also included in the line-up are comedy circuit gem Don Biswas, comedian, writer and producer Pravanya Pillay, and Scottish native, Sabina.

The audience can also expect live music from BBC Asian Network’s DJ Kizzi.

Ahmed Hussain, head of BBC Asian Network, said: "I am really excited that we’re able to bring this year’s show to Glasgow, showcasing some of the UK’s finest up and coming names in comedy.

"Asian Network is all about celebrating and championing talent and this a great opportunity to do exactly that for rising voices, perspectives and talent from across the UK, and to top it off we’ll have a DJ on the night, so get ready for a proper Asian Network night out."

The event is limited to those over 18 and tickets, priced at £15 plus a £2 booking fee, are available from January 11 at 10am.

The show will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds after the event.
