A teenager has been assaulted outside a school in Glasgow.
The 14-year-old has been taken to hospital after being attacked outside the entrance of Lourdes Secondary School.
Detectives taped off Kirriemuir Avenue after the incident happened at around 1.55pm in Cardonald, in the city's Southside.
The boy's condition has not been confirmed by emergency services who are still probing the incident.
Detectives and officers are standing guard at the area.
One resident who lives nearby said: "There's so many detectives around the school because somethings kicked off."
Another resident said: "Police have taped off right outside the school, it is really scary."
A third resident said: "There is a lot of anxiety in the air right now, we want answers."
A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “School staff acted swiftly to an incident outside the school grounds today and emergency services attended.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage during the police investigation.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report that a 14-year-old boy had been assaulted on Kirriemuir Avenue, Glasgow, around 1.55pm on Friday, 12 January, 2024.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
