A free potato-growing workshop will be held by Dobbies Garden Centres in their Milngavie store.
The workshops, which will be held on February 3 and 4, encourages gardening enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to attend their Grow How and Little Seedlings Club sessions.
These sessions, according to the garden centre operator, are aimed at encouraging communities to try their hand at gardening.
Nigel Lawton, a plant buyer at Dobbies, said: "From Maris Piper to Potato Charlotte, there is a wide variety of potatoes to choose from that you can grow for yourself at home.
"All you need is a potato sack or tub, filled with a quarter of good quality peat-free compost, three seed potatoes evenly spaced on top of the soil covered with another layer of compost and then water regularly to keep the compost moist.
"Your potatoes will be ready to be harvested in as little as 12 weeks."
The Grow How session is a 15-minute interactive demonstration based at the Boclair Road store.
Attendees will learn from Dobbies’ horticultural experts about different types of potato varieties and care tips for a successful harvest.
The February session of the Little Seedlings Club is designed to intrigue children aged four to 10 years old with the history of the potato, its cultivation and varieties.
Children will also learn how potatoes are prepared in different cultures worldwide.
These workshops will also introduce an educational and interactive experience for all ages.
