"The Pavement will continue with our great team of staff and new owners so Happy New Year and thanks for the memories.
"Remember to tip your bartenders!"
Dozens of customers commented on the news and wished the Febers a happy retirement.
One person wrote: "End of an era, it's always a pleasure meeting you both...time to relax and enjoy life..."
Another added: "Congratulations to you both on your retirement.
"We wish you all the best for whatever the future holds.

Scottish Business Agency is now marketing the venue, hoping to fetch a rent of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum from the new leaseholder.
The outlet can seat up to 50 covers with outdoor seating for an additional 40 customers.
A spokesperson for the firm described the unit as a "blank slate for any operator" with potential for any type of cuisine due to its city centre location.
They added: "The previous tenants put a lot of effort into the business, creating Pavement and offering a range of beers different from the surrounding licensed offerings."
