THERE'S a day for everything, and today (January 20) is National Cheese Lovers Day.
Taking place every year, the day is dedicated to the celebration of the many different cheeses from around the world, giving you a good reason to indulge in your favourite or try something new.
Whether you're on a the lookout for a simple cheddar, a stringy mozzarella or a rich stilton here are some of the cheesemongers across Glasgow who can help...
I. J. Mellis
492 Great Western Road
Trading for almost 30 years in Glasgow, I. J. Mellis specialise in farmhouse and artisan cheese.
The brand offer a number of events including weekly wine and cheese tastings and exclusive pairing events with local producers.
They also have an online store in you're unable to visit them in person and a Monthly Cheese Club subscription service.
George Mewes Cheese
106 Byres Road
Award-winning George Mewes Cheese has been operating Glasgow since 2010 selling world-class artisan cheese.
The products are sourced from across the British Isles, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland and the West End store is fully refrigerated and designed to keep the cheese in perfect condition.
They also have an online store.
Starter Culture
1052 Pollokshaws Road
Located in the Southside, Starter Culture is an artisan cheese, deli and drinks shop.
In their own words, Starter Culture makes "a mean grilled cheese sandwich" which have to be ordered ahead and they offer a variety of events such as whisky and wine tasting with cheese.
They also have an online store offering delivery across the UK.
