The 57-year-old was standing outside the toilets at the Piazza shopping centre in Paisley when the violent incident occurred.
A group of male youths assaulted him at around 5.15pm on Friday, January 19 in what CID is describing as a 'violent and unprovoked' assault.

“We believe a group of at least three young males were involved, having been seen in the area of the toilets at the time, and are asking anyone who saw the youths or has any information on the incident to come forward.
