Sainsbury's has announced plans to open a new store in a retail park.
The supermarket giant will bring a new Sainsbury's Local shop to the retail centre which is currently being developed on Eaglesham Road in Jackton.
Sainsbury’s is the first tenant to sign up for the new development, where it hopes to become the first grocery store to serve customers from within the nearby village.
The new shop will be open between 7am and 11pm and will offer the brand's already-loved ranges from fresh bread and cakes to fruit and veg, meat, fish and more.
Customers on the go will be able to enjoy a Costa Coffee machine as well as an in-store Click & Collect service where shoppers can order online from Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing.
The move will create around 15 local jobs and help to support good causes in the community, such as redistributing excess food to those in need through Sainsbury's partnership with Neighbourly.
David Pilbeam, Sainsbury’s director of acquisitions, capital projects and engineering, said: “We’re passionate about delicious food and we want to make it easier for customers to access it wherever we can, so we’re delighted to confirm our plans for a new Sainsbury’s store in Jackton.
"We hope our investment in the village, creating jobs and a convenient new place for people to shop locally, will benefit the community for years to come.”
