Staff at a Glasgow-based veterinary service have donated £500 to a Scottish health charity.

The Dermatology Referral Service sourced the money from the community fund of its parent company, IVC Evidensia, with Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) selected as their beneficiary.

Laurie Adams, practice director, said: "Most of us here know someone who has been affected by a chest, heart or stroke condition.

"We had never applied to get the funding before, but it was surprisingly easy and we’re delighted to be able to make this donation to CHSS.

"Doing this has given us some ideas about future charitable fundraising, so watch this space."

Louise MacLeod, community events and corporate fundraiser at CHSS, which aids one in five Scots living with chest, heart, stroke conditions and long Covid, said: "We are so grateful to the team at Dermatology Referral Service for choosing CHSS to benefit from the community fund.

"They are true fundraising heroes. Donations like these help us to provide support services in the community to allow people to better manage their conditions and stay healthy."

Donations, such as this one by the Dermatology Referral Service, allow CHSS to provide community support services to those affected, helping them manage their conditions and maintain good health.

With long-term goals to reach an additional 175,000 individuals across Scotland by 2028 through its Community Healthcare Support Services, the health charity welcomes the support.

More information about fundraising for CHSS can be found on their website, and those seeking advice or information related to heart disease and stroke can reach the CHSS advice line.
