A man is due in court after 999 services were called to an alleged 'stabbing' in broad daylight.
Emergency crews were called to Phoenix Place in the Elderslie area shortly after midday on Sunday.
Reports on social media claimed dozens of police cars could be seen in the area.
The force revealed that a 29-year-old man was found injured at the scene.
He was rushed to hospital to be treated.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
He is expected in court today.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.10pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024 officers were called to a report of a serious assault in the Phoenix Place area of Elderslie.
"Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
"He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, February 12, 2024."
