Queen's Park Supporters Association teamed up with Queen's Park Football Club to raise £1,000 for Epilepsy Scotland through a charity raffle.

A bottle of GlenAllachie 15 whisky and two whisky glasses, donated by the association's bus convener Douglas Hunter were the raffle's prize.

The raffle initially raised £480 but the Scottish Championship club matched the proceeds and topped it up to £1,000.

Linzi Donald, community and events fundraiser at Epilepsy Scotland, said: "We would like to thank everyone at Queen’s Park Supporters Association and Queen’s Park Football Club for raising such an incredible amount.

"Both have been great supporters of Epilepsy Scotland over the last decade, and we appreciate their continued fundraising and support as we enter into our 70th year providing support for people with epilepsy.

"This money will help us continue to provide advocacy, support and services for people living with epilepsy across Scotland."

Epilepsy Scotland has been the association's chosen charity for over a decade following the death of member Martin Kelly, who died due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) while preparing to take part in a supporters’ football tournament.

The group continues to raise funds in his memory.

The Queen’s Park Supporters Association Travel Club Player of the Year award has also been named after Mr Kelly as he was a regular supporter.

The supporters association have held charity football matches, race nights, raffles and quiz nights to raise money for Epilepsy Scotland.

Graeme Shields, president of Queen's Park Club, said: "It is great to see a business partner, supporter, the Supporters Association and the club working so well together to help a charity that means a lot to the people at Queen’s Park."
