Graduates from a Glasgow University course are celebrating their success.

A total of 10 people took part in the community development course, Activate. They began their studies last November and graduated earlier this month. The graduates are from various local organisations including ng homes and the Courtyard Pantry.

The course covers areas such as anti-discriminatory practice, local and global issues, power, community investigations and standards for community development.

Janette Devlin, Activate tutor, said: “This course has been filled with great discussion, debate, learning, some fun, and good food. It was a terrific blend of both wisdom and fresh perspectives that each of the participants brought to the session every week and helped create a truly enriching learning experience for them all.”

Catherine Rossine, chair of Ng Homes, said: "The Activate course is a wonderful opportunity to think about community development from new perspectives and I am delighted to congratulate these students on their achievements.

"It is wonderful to see these students make new connections through Activate.

"I would strongly encourage anyone who is interested in taking part or learning more (about Activate) to get in touch and be part of the next session.”
