Two people have been rushed to hospital after a serious road crash in the city.

Trauma teams rushed to Provan Road in Glasgow this morning after a two car smash happened at 11am.

The two patients went to Glasgow Royal A&E for treatment but their condition is unknown.

We reported how specialist officers closed off the street at Cumbernauld Road following the incident.

Pictures from the scene appear to show a collision between a blue car which appears to have veered onto the pavement and a truck.

Inside the police cordon, around four traffic cops were seen carrying out their investigations.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Services said: “We received a call at 11:01 hours today to attend a road traffic collision on Provan Road in Glasgow.

“We dispatched two ambulances and our trauma team to the scene. We transported two patients to Glasgow Royal A&E.”

Police Scotland Greater Glasgow tweeted: “Around 11.05am on Thursday, 22 February, 2024, we were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Provan Road in Glasgow.

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road remains closed. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes.”
