Former Libyan intelligence officer Abdelbaset al-Megrahi is so far the only person who has been convicted in relation to the bombing after being found guilty of 270 counts of murder in 2001.
The new drama is told from the perspective of Jim and Jane Swire who lost their daughter Flora in the atrocity which took place on the eve of her 24th birthday.
The five-part series is based on Jim's 2021 book The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father's Search for Justice with the retired GP being portrayed by Oscar winner Colin Firth.

Our photographer Gordon Terris spotted the actor filming on St Vincent Street earlier today.
Pictures show the actor outside the building at 200 Vincent Street as well as several members of the film crew.
A number of classic cars have also been parked on the street.
A series of roads will close in the city centre and East End next week to accommodate for filming of Flight 103, which is expected to air next year.
It is understood another series from BBC and Netflix based on the Lockerbie bombing is also in the works.
