AN investigation has been launched after a 'burned' body was found on a football pitch in Motherwell.
The body was discovered in the Magaret Drive area of the town at around 9am this morning.
It is understood the body had been set on fire.

Police did not disclose if the body is that of a male or female.
They said the death is currently being treated as unexplained and an investigation is ongoing.
Officers remain at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Saturday, February 24, 2024 a body was discovered in the Margaret Drive area of Motherwell.
"Officers are at the scene.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
