A dad wanted to "ragdoll" the boss of the botched Willy Wonka event in Glasgow.

The disastrous experience has gone viral after families paid £35 - just to be met by a sparsely decorated room including few plastic props, a little bouncy castle, and small backdrops pinned to walls.

Now footage has emerged of a furious crowd outside the event on Saturday, February 24 at the Box Hub Warehouse, in the Whiteinch area.

In clips seen by the Glasgow Times, Billy Coull from House of Illuminati, repeatedly assures the group that they will get full refunds and says “thank you for your time I am very very sorry.”

One man is then heard saying: “You are not f****** sorry. You are lucky people have their cameras out because I would f****** ragdoll you about.”

Billy also insists he does not wish to be filmed to which angry crowds reply “I don’t care we have paid money”.

Looking visibly upset he confirms families will be fully refunded which is met by one angry mum saying “I am calling the police”.

Billy repeatedly attempts to retreat into the building but furious parents can be heard shouting and demanding he return.

Crowds can be heard saying: “This is Christmas presents off Santa, Santa would not let the kids down.”

“There's load of people with their children here, this is absolutely out of order.

“Don’t hide up the stairs, come on!”

Billy was accused of being “a fake” but denied the allegation and confirmed they did rely on AI to produce event advertisements.

One angry parent said: “See if this was actually supposed to be set up for today, where is all the stuff the kids were supposed to be seeing in the first place? This just wouldn’t happen over night. This would be a long process.

“You have scammed children. This is an absolute scam.”

Crowds can then be seen challenging security guards who refuse to let them inside the building.

House of Illuminati issued a statement that said: “Today has been a very stressful and frustrating day for many and for that we are truly sorry.

“Unfortunately at the last minute we were let down in many areas of our event and tried our best to continue on and push through.

“Now we realise we probably should have cancelled first thing this morning instead.

“We fully apologise for what has happened and will be giving full refunds to each and every person that purchased tickets."

House of Illuminati previously reassured customers that the event was “legitimate” after concerns had been raised that it was a “scam”.

Posting on Facebook, they said: “We understand that scepticism can arise with new events, but we kindly request refraining from using terms like ‘scam’ and instead, extend a little trust in our operation.”
