A car has "crashed into traffic lights" in the city sparking a police presence.
Pictures taken by the Glasgow Times showed the silver Vauxhall badly damaged on Scotland Street at around 10am today.
Detectives were on the scene trying to remove debris from the smash to avoid traffic chaos.
The bumper of the car could be seen hanging off after the collision took place.
It is unknown the reason for the crash or if anyone has been injured as a result.
Eye witnesses claimed: "The car lost control and crashed into the traffic lights.
"It all happened very quickly, it was scary. Police have been trying to clear away the damage."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
