An emergency incident has sparked rush-hour chaos on a busy Glasgow motorway.
Traffic Scotland has said lanes two and three of the M8 Eastbound carriageway at Junction 27 are currently blocked due to a vehicle smash.
Police are in attendance at the scene, however, it is unclear how many cars the accident has involved or if anyone has been injured.
An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times 'traffic' in the area is 'really bad' due to the crash.
Pictures from the scene show cops have blocked the lanes off, while it is also understood the Scottish Ambulance Service is also at the incident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 7.24am to attend a road traffic accident on the M8 eastbound at Junction 27.
"An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and no patients required hospital treatment.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
More as we have it.
