A cyclist is fighting for his life after he was hit by a bus in Newton Mearns.
The 63-year-old is in the care of medics at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the crash on the A77 at the junction with Ayr Road today.
Mercy crews were called to the scene around 12.35pm with traffic cops sealing off the road to investigate the crash which appeared to involve a McGills bus.
The road was closed for around six hours and was reopened.
Sergeant Paul Mellis said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to come forward.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1499 of 6 March, 2024.
