Scottish Citylink is encouraging customers to donate Easter eggs and art supplies to bring a touch of fun to children in Glasgow Children’s Hospital.

The coach operator aims to collect up to 200 eggs for the children who are expected to spend Easter being cared for in the hospital.

Contributions can be made at the Citylink Travel Centre in Buchanan Bus Station until March 26.

They are welcoming everything from Easter eggs to art supplies, colouring pens, pencils, Play Doh, craft kits, and colouring books, as long as the donations do not include sharp objects or small parts.

Simone Walsh, managing director at Scottish Citylink, said: “We’re proud to be supporting the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and the amazing work done by the hospital to care for children day in, day out.

“We wanted to do something to brighten up Easter for the young people whose health issues mean they’ll be in hospital during the holidays and we know our generous customers will be only too happy to support this cause.”

Kirsten Watson, chief executive officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, thanked Citylink and their customers for their kindness.

She said: “We rely on our partners’ generosity to continue helping the hundreds of babies and children treated at the children’s hospital every day, and this gesture will put smiles on faces across the wards.”

Scottish Citylink is starting the charity drive by donating £100 worth of items.
