Pictures have shown a busy Glasgow subway platform fill with smoke this evening.
Cowcaddens underground was filled by grey smoke clouds after a service pulled in at around 5.38pm today.
It is believed to have been caused by a brake issue, however SPT have not confirmed this.
Passengers can be seen looking confused on the busy platform in photographs obtained by the Glasgow Times.
The outer circle has now been suspended as a result.
Passengers are being advised to use the inner line as disrurption continues.
A spokesperson for SPT said: "A brake became stuck on one of our legacy train carriages which caused a train break-down.
"Services on the Outer Circle were suspended briefly while we removed the train from service.”
