A secondary school in Glasgow is set to take on the Young Enterprise Scotland National finals.
Lochend Community High School students will head to Hampden Park after winning the Glasgow Regional Final for the Company Programme with their business called GOAT.
The team behind the business created a literacy-based board game to improve reading comprehension and communication skills among young people.
The initiative also combats social isolation and encourages the development of relationships between different age groups.
Held at the University of Glasgow, Lochend students competed in the regional against teams from The Glasgow Academy, St Thomas Aquinas RC Secondary School, King’s Park Secondary School and St Margaret Mary’s Secondary School.
The Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme offers S5 and S6 students practical work experience from developing an idea, conducting market research, creating the product or service, promoting that product and eventually trading it.
Emma Soanes, chief executive of Young Enterprise Scotland, said: "The Lochend Community High School team is an inspiration and I wish them every success in the Scottish finals later this year.
"Setting up and running their own successful company is a wonderful experience and will have given them new skills to take forward into their learning and future careers.
"So, whatever happens at Hampden Park, they are already winners."
Arnold Clark, among others, sponsored the Glasgow Company Finals.
Lauren MacDonald from Arnold Clark, said: “Enterprise skills are something we hugely value as an employer and through our apprenticeships and grad schemes, we are committed to developing these skills in the young workforce.
"The Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme is a brilliant opportunity for young people to have a hands-on, practical experience in business and offers a glimpse of potential future career paths available to them that they may not have previously considered."
The finals will run from May 28 to 29 as part of the three-day Festival of Youth Enterprise.
