A GLASGOW butter brand is changing its name to Wee Knob.
Oui Knob is transforming in an exciting rebrand to fit Glasgow dialect and will also enjoy new colourful packaging.
Founded in 2021 by Jules Bal, the butter brand – which Jules operates with his business partner, Kieran Woods - is a regular at farmers' markets across the city.
It is also the exclusive butter supplier of four major Scottish bakeries, but ahead of an expansion drive, Jules and Kieran, both 32, felt it was time for a refresh.
Jules said: “As a product born and bred in Glasgow, it's only fitting that its name reflects the local dialect.
“The decision to rename the brand to Wee Knob not only clears up any linguistic confusion, but also embraces the playful and endearing spirit of its Scottish heritage.”
Since its inception, Wee Knob has garnered a devoted following thanks to its commitment to quality, affordability and local craftsmanship.
Jules added: “As butter prices continue to rise, consumers are increasingly seeking alternatives that offer both value and support for local businesses.
“Wee Knob meets this demand by providing a high-quality product at a competitive price point, all while proudly representing the vibrant spirit of Glasgow.”
Kieran and Jules started the brand with a shared vision to create butter that not only tastes exceptional but also reflects their passion for their Scottish roots.
Their dedication to crafting a superior product has led to remarkable growth, and the rebranding as Wee Knob marks the next chapter in their journey.
The new packaging for Wee Knob is a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and creativity.
With a contemporary design that is both fresh and colourful, the packaging not only captures the essence of the brand but also showcases the five flavour profiles – garlic and herb, honey and cinnamon, tomato and basil, sriracha and thyme, and classic salted.
