Speed restrictions have been put in place by Network Rail on two Glasgow rail services.
The services affected are Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts and Glasgow Central to Neilston.
This is due to heavier than expected rainfall with trains being slowed down on parts of these routes until 5pm today (April 9).
In the north of Scotland, Aberdeen to Inverness services are also affected.
/1 Further to the speed restrictions we announced last night, we’re seeing heavier-than-expected rainfall between Aberdeen-Inverness, Glasgow Central-Neilston and Glasgow Central–Edinburgh via Shotts.

/2 Due to this, we’re slowing trains down on parts of these routes until 17:00 today. It’ll mean journey times will be extended. We’re continuing to monitor the forecast and the actual rainfall out there. Thanks for your understanding if you’re affected.
