A MAN has died following a "serious assault" in the city's Southside.
Cops were called to Victoria Road in Govanhill at around 11.55pm on Friday, April 12, following a report of a 70-year-old man being assaulted.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed a 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Enquiries remain ongoing and Victoria Road was closed in both directions between Queen's Drive and Allison Street.
It reopened around 12pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.55pm on April 12, police were called to the Victoria Road area of Glasgow, following the reported serious assault of a 70-year-old man.
"The man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing."
