A MAN has been rushed to hospital after he was 'stabbed' outside a block of flats in the city's Southside. 

Emergency services were called to Boyd Street, just off Cathcart Road, at around 1.30am this morning (April 19) following a report of a serious assault. 

A 25-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

It is understood he was stabbed.

The Scottish Sun reports a local resident said: "It appears the guy was stabbed between two cars just off Cathcart Road.

"The police were taking fingerprints off the bonnets of two motors in particular.

"A private hire car’s dashcam records 24/7 so police were very interested in the data card from that."

Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack and they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Mooney, Cathcart Police Office, said: "I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Boyd Street or Cathcart Road areas in the early hours of this morning, and saw anything that may be of importance, to come forward.

"We know the area wasn’t busy around that time so anything you may have seen could prove vital to our investigation.

"There will be a continued police presence in the area while enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with concerns or information can speak to officers."
