Fire crews have been called to a Heavy Goods Vehicle on fire this evening close to a busy motorway.
Flames could be seen shooting up close to the M80 motorway at Cumbernauld near the junction with the M73, around 10 miles outside Glasgow.
A huge plume of black smoke was visible to drivers and passengers on the road for some distance.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at 6.15 pm of an HGV on fire at Deerdykes Road in the town.
Two fire appliances were at the scene dealing with the blaze.
It is not known yet if anyone was reported to be in the vehicle or if another vehicle was involved.
