FIRE crews have raced to the city's West End after a blaze broke out inside a tenement flat.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to Polwarth Street in Hyndland shortly before 6am this morning following reports of a fire.
Four appliances and a high-reach vehicle were sent to the scene to tackle the fire.
Fire crews remain in attendance.
Polwarth Street is currently closed between Clarence Drive and Queensborough Gardens.
An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 5.56am on Friday, 26 April to reports of a fire affecting a tenement flat on Polwarth Street in the Hyndland area of Glasgow.
"Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a high-reach vehicle to the scene, where crews remain in attendance."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.30am on Friday, April 26 police received a report of a fire in a flat in Polwarth Street, Hyndland.
"Emergency services are in attendance.
"Polwarth Street is closed between Clarence Drive and Queensborough Gardens."
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 6.18am hours today to attend a fire on Polwarth Street in Glasgow.
"We dispatched two ambulances, our special operations team and a paramedic response unit to the scene."
