A SHOPLIFTER who stole £60 of butter returned to the same supermarket days later and assaulted the manager.
Daniel Nicholson appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing for three matters.
The 29-year-old stole £60 of butter from Lidl on Hopehill Road, Maryhill, on July 3 last year.
The following week on the afternoon of July 15, he returned to the same shop – when shift manager James Ross was working at the time.

Mr Ross had prior knowledge of Nicholson due to the previous theft and had been made aware of him being in the store.
Nicholson headed towards the security barriers and Mr Ross asked him to stop.
The court heard there was a brief back and forth between the pair before Nicholson jumped the security barrier which was separating them.
He pushed Mr Ross with two hands, causing him to stumble back.
Other staff members came to assist.
Nicholson, of Maryhill, was not traced until a later date.
Meanwhile, on June 26 last year cops were on patrol when they spotted Nicholson standing in a doorway on Union Street with another man.
Officers saw him with a yellow shell case from a Kinder Surprise Egg and believed a drug deal to be taking place as he was holding money.

Police pulled up and spoke with Nicholson. They applied handcuffs and carried out a search.
Four wraps of heroin were found inside the Kinder Egg case, which were valued between £20-40 in total.
Nicholson’s defence solicitor revealed her client had been sentenced to seven months in prison in April for an assault on his ex-partner.
She added that he has drug issues and was heavily under the influence of diazepam and heroin when the crimes took place.
Sheriff Diana McConnell told Nicholson: “My hands are really tied. Custody is the only option.”
He was sentenced to 225 days behind bars to run consecutively with his current jail term.
