A NEW street food vendor has opened in the Southside serving tacos with a twist.
Choo Choo Tacos has opened up on Park Lane in Shawlands serving the ‘easy to eat’ food which has been influenced by flavours from around the world
The business is owned by Harry Olorunda and Lewis Andrew, 33, who also run Park Lane Market where the taco shack is located.

Harry, 35, said: "We’ve been doing the market for six and a half years and we purchased the shack and we started making tacos.
"The whole taco idea came up from chatting to friends and working with a few people to see what we could do.
"We realised you couldn’t get any tacos in Shawlands because Sacred Tum Tacos shut so it was a logical step for us to do tacos."
All the fillings for the tacos are cooked on a barbecue which also influenced the name of the business because it "looks like a choo choo train".
Harry previously worked in kitchens and is a "massive fan of food" so came up with the menu, with his mum working on the grill and a friend from El Salvador preparing the Mexican elements of the menu.
Harry explained: "Tacos are just the vessel so everything that goes on the tacos comes from all around the world.
"We have Jerk chicken from the Caribbean, we do a Shawarma pork belly which is Middle Eastern, we do a Mediterranean one with halloumi, we do a vegetable medley one which is vegan, and we also have the African element as well where we make a Jollof rice.
"We do that in a burrito format but also serve the rice with chicken as well.
"It’s a relatively simple menu with tastes from all around the world in a taco format."

He continued: "It has all the elements of what you get from a Mexican, you’ve got chicken, fish and pork, but we just do it differently. We make it a little more fusion and it seems to work.
"I travel the world a lot with work eating and drinking so I know what good food is."
Harry and Lewis also run The Bevy Store where diners can buy takeaway margaritas and slushies to enjoy with their food.
Choo Choo Tacos opened at the end of March and has been a hit with customers so far.
It is currently only open on Sundays but they hope to open it on Saturdays as well during the summer months.
Harry said: "The response has been good, everyone that’s had it has really liked it so far.
"Our ethos is always about creating something cool, something fun for people in the Southside.
"In terms of prices for £6 you get two tacos so it’s not about fleecing people, it’s just about creating a really good experience."
Choo Choo Tacos however is just one part of Harry and Lewis’ future plans for Park Lane.
Harry revealed: "I think we’ll be permanent there for a while because our aim is to regenerate that whole lane.
"Moving forward, we’ve got plans to get stuff that’s a bit more permanent there. There’s a lot to watch out for."
Choo Choo Tacos is located on Park Lane at 974 Pollokshaws Road.
It is currently open from 12-4pm every Sunday.
Park Lane Market takes place on the first and last Sunday of every month.
