A PRISONER who was caught with a weapon between his buttocks claimed he had it because he was concerned about his safety.
Prison officers were called to an incident within HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs at 12.40pm on September 5 last year.
They spotted Jason King being held back from another prisoner.
The 31-year-old was escorted back to his cell for a full body search.
King was asked if he had anything sharp on him and he replied no.
He was required to remove his underwear and the staff could see something between his buttocks.

He was asked to remove the item and did so.
It was found to be a metal shank. King was advised he would be reported.
He appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week for sentencing.
His lawyer said: “There were issues regarding other prisoners and his safety. He was attacked numerous times and one time he had a kettle of boiling water poured over him.
“He essentially became paranoid that people were after him. He accepts he shouldn’t have any sort of weapon in prison or any setting.
“He was, however, worried about his safety. He has now moved from Low Moss and reports no issues.”
It was revealed that King is currently serving a 40-month sentence for assault charges.
His lawyer added: “There are no options other than a custodial sentence. He pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.”
Sheriff Simone Sweeney imposed a 121-day jail term to run concurrently with his ongoing sentence.
