A CHEF who crashed his car on the motorway was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Cops were called to the Baillieston junction of the M8 at 6am on December 2, 2023, after a report of a one-vehicle accident.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that it had been snowing heavily at the time.
Officers saw a black Volkswagen Polo near the hard shoulder with damage to the front.

Charlie Batchelor, 19, exited the car and spoke with cops.
They noticed a smell of alcohol coming from him and asked him to provide a specimen of breath, which he did.
He failed the test and was informed he was under arrest.
Batchelor, from Livingston, was taken to London Road police office where he provided further breath specimens.

He was found to be more than three times over the limit. Batchelor represented himself when he appeared in court.
He told Sheriff Simone Sweeney: “I have issues with my mental health. I have been working closely with teams to address my issues. My employers are aware of the situation.
“I’m determined to put it behind me.”
The sheriff disqualified him from driving for 12 months and fined him £320.
