A blaze near Glasgow's M8 motorway sparked an 999 response yesterday evening.
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in the open in the city's Springfield Quay area shortly after 6pm on Wednesday, May 8.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they sent one fire truck to the scene.
On arrival, crews were met with a fire which had taken hold of a quantity of waste.
Fire teams extinguished the blaze before leaving the scene.
In pictures shared with the Glasgow Times smoke could be seen in the air from underneath the Kingston Bridge.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 6.24pm on Wednesday, May 8, to reports of a fire in the open in Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised one appliance to the city's Springfield Quay, where firefighters were met by a fire which had taken hold of a quantity of waste.
"Crews extinguished the fire before leaving the scene."
