Two Glasgow students are among the four Scots who have been selected for Team UK to compete in the Skills Olympics.
City of Glasgow College students Finley Graham and Yasmin George, alongside Nathan Young, a New College Lanarkshire student, and Danny McBean, an apprentice at UHI Moray, will participate in the WorldSkills 2024 Competition in Lyon, France, from September 10 to 15.
They will be competing in 3D Digital Game Art, IT Network Systems Administration, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Renewable Energy.
More than 1,500 contenders from 65 countries will challenge each other in 62 different skills throughout the tournament.
The competition serves as a platform for representatives from all four UK nations to compete against their international counterparts in a bid to be declared the best in the world in their discipline.
Shona Struthers, chief executive of Colleges Scotland, said: "These four young people have already demonstrated the outstanding skills they have acquired in Scottish colleges.
"The international competition offers an incredible opportunity to showcase their talents on the global stage while competing against their peers from so many different countries.
"We wish them every success."
Carol Turnbull, ambassador lead for Scotland at WorldSkills UK, said: "We should all be proud of the skill and determination these young professionals have shown to get selected for Team UK.
"They represent the very best in their field, but will have to be at the top of their game competing against their peers from across the globe.
"The event is a real opportunity to raise the profile and prestige of Scottish colleges and UK skills and is a life-changing opportunity for all involved."
