One of the hottest sports in the world is coming to a Braehead store this summer.
Global sports brand Decathlon and UK-based padel operator Soul Padel are bringing padel – described as a combination between tennis and squash to Decathlon’s Braehead store.
The collaboration between Soul Padel and Decathlon will see two pop-up padel courts open to the public from Monday, June 3 until Wednesday, August 31.
The summer festival will feature a range of activities and coaching clinics as Soul Padel aims to promote the sport to local communities and fitness enthusiasts.
Special events will include introductory padel clinics led by professional coaches, children's sessions during the school holidays as well as "women-only" sessions.
Soul Padel founder and CEO Mark Hewlett said: “This is an incredible opportunity to bring padel to Glasgow and we are really pleased to be taking padel into the heart of the city for the first time.
“Decathlon is an internationally respected sports brand, and we are immensely proud to be partnering with them in the months ahead.
“Our aim across these three months is to create a summer festival of padel that will introduce more people to this incredibly fun sport and encourage them to become fellow padel fanatics.
“We also have a lot of activities in the pipeline, which we will share once they are finalised.”
