Krispy Kreme has apologised after a truck crashed at ASDA.

The doughnut giant has made a statement after a vehicle was pictured at the Hamilton supermarket this week.

The image shows the large delivery truck appearing to have mis-judged the height of a car park entrance and hitting the roof of the vehicle.

Emergency services attended the scene to then help reopen the busy car park.

Now an investigation has been launched to probe the incident.

The condition of the driver remains unknown at this time.

The images were supplied to the Glasgow Times by one shopper who said: “Ye can't park there mate.

“Don't think Krispy Kreme will be getting the rest of their deliveries out today.

"I reckon I just missed it minutes. Recovery truck turned up and was still there two hours later trying to wedge it out."

A spokesperson for Krispy Kreme said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are grateful to the emergency services who helped to swiftly and safely reopen the road and carpark.

“An internal investigation into the circumstances of this incident is underway."

Police Scotland and ASDA were both contacted for comment by the Glasgow Times.
