STAFF are being sought to ensure the smooth operation of the general election in Glasgow.
Glasgow City Council is looking to add to it's bank of staff to help with the running of the city's polling stations and the vote count for the UK Parliamentary Election on Thursday, July 4.
Around 1500 people are needed to staff more than 450 polling stations across the city, with a further 1000 needed to facilitate the vote count at the Emirates Arena.

A recent change in legislation also means for certain elections photographic ID must be shown by voters, meaning more staff are needed at polling stations.
Roles available include polling station staff who set up the polling station before the polls open at 7am, issue ballot papers, mark the electoral registers and generally support voters, making sure they know what to do.
Enumerators work at the count centre, which for this election is the Emirates Arena. They will work overnight, once the polls close to open ballot boxes, sort and count the votes.
All roles are paid and for this election polling station staff rates start at £266 and count enumerators are £130 (subject to tax).

Susanne Millar, chief executive of Glasgow City Council and the city’s Returning Officer, has asked people to support this important democratic process.
She said: "Our democracy depends on thousands of people who work in a variety of roles across the administration of elections.
"By working with us to ensure the smooth operation of elections in Glasgow people can gain unique work experience, meet new people, support their community and be compensated for their work.
"In Glasgow we have a huge task in making sure our registered electorate totalling more than 413,000 is able to vote easily on polling day and that we run an open and fair count, and I’d urge people to get in touch if they are interested in helping us to do this."
No previous experience is necessary and full training will be provided.
To work in elections, you must be at least 18 years of age, have a National Insurance Number, a valid email address, and have the right to work in the UK.
