Plans to build more homes at the huge Sighthill development are moving forward.

KeepMoat Homes is inviting people to give feedback on plans for the future phases of the north Glasgow site.

The construction firm has asked people to get in touch and scheduled an exhibition presenting the development proposals earlier this week.

The £250 million Sighthill Transformational Regeneration Area (TRA) is the biggest project of its type in the UK outside of London.

There are to be more than 800 homes eventually – and other features of the new neighbourhood include a community campus and a bridge over the M8. So far 144 homes are in place according to Glasgow City Council. There are to be 628 homes for sale and 198 for mid market rent, which is for people who can’t get social housing or afford to buy their own home or private rent.

Local SNP councillor Allan Casey shared information on the pre application consultation on social media.

The information said: “The original masterplan for Sighthill sets out a fantastic vision that provides a blueprint for the Sighthill community. The current proposals build on this solid foundation and will see the delivery of increased housing numbers within the TRA.

“Planning permission in principle has been granted previously for the masterplan area. However in advance of submitting a planning application for the detailed matters associated with the future phases, Keepmoat Homes wish to engage with the local community.”
