A MAN who died after being hit by a car in Cumbernauld has been named.
We previously reported a 49-year-old man died after he was struck by a black Citreon C4 on Greenfaulds Road at around 8.10am on Sunday, May 26.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance where he later died.
He has now been named as William Henderson from Cumbernauld.
The driver of the Citroen was uninjured.
Police are re-appealing for any witnesses to come forward and said their thoughts remain with Mr Henderson's family and friends.
Sergeant Chris McColm of Lanarkshire Road Policing said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Henderson at what is a very difficult time.
"We would re-appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who stopped to assist at the scene.
"I would also be keen to speak to anyone with dash-cam footage as it may hold information that is relevant to our investigation.
"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1067 of Sunday, May 26, 2024."
