Charity Grow 73 posted a picture of the burnt remains of the structure on Facebook and said they will start crowdfunding to restore it.
The post read: "This is not the kind of post we like to have to share.
"Unfortunately the bandstand was set on fire last night and here is what is left of it today.
"We love the bandstand and so does the community.
"Some of you have been in touch asking if we would start a crowdfunding to restore it to its beauty.
"We would love to do this , so please give us time to pull ourselves together to organise this.
"If someone has already done crowdfunding before could you get in touch with us and we can discuss ways to make it work."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a fire at Overtoun Park, Rutherglen, around 12.40am on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."
