A TEENAGER has been left fighting for his life following a "disturbance" in a park in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Greenfield Park in Eskbank Street at around 8.15pm on Friday, May 31 to a report of a disturbance and found a 16-year-old male seriously injured. 

He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. 

A 13-year-old boy was also taken to hospital for treatment. 

Police said he has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

An investigation has been launched and there will be a significant police presence in the area while enquiries continue.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.15pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Cranhill area of Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended Greenfield Park in Eskbank Street and found a 16-year-old male seriously injured.

"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"A 13-year-old male youth was also taken to hospital for treatment.

"He has been arrested in connection with the incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing and there will continue to be a significant police presence in the area while officers carry out an investigation.

"Anyone with concerns or information can approach these officers or contact Police Scotland on 101."
