A treasured painting of Rouken Glen's Redwood tree by late artist Mary Wilson has been donated to Eastwood House by her children.
The artwork, an impressive oil painting, was given to East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, where it will be used as inspiration for a series of workshops.
The artist's children Lewis, Edmund and Rachel decided to donate the painting.
Mary's daughter Rachel Munro, said: "This much admired and impressive tree was a constant favourite in Mary's many dutiful laps of the park with her grandchildren who lived a stone’s throw away, so much so she felt inspired to capture this very recognisable landmark in this wonderful painting Rouken Glen Redwood.
"Mum was a wonderful artist and also an educator, so it's fantastic that the painting is now an inspiration for education.
"I thought it would be lovely to place the work somewhere that people would recognise and appreciate it, so I'm absolutely delighted to see the painting now in place at Eastwood House."
The handover took place during a celebrating event where Council Leader Owen O'Donnell, Provost Mary Montague, local councillors and art class participants were in attendance.
Owen said: "We want to thank Rachel, who is an East Renfrewshire resident, and her family for gifting this artwork to the care of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure.
"Rachel was looking for a home for some of her mother's artwork.
"Due to the subject matter of the painting, she thought it would be most appropriate for it to be placed in an East Renfrewshire public building, where it could be appreciated and enjoyed.
"We were only too happy to accept this generous offer and thought Eastwood House would be a fitting backdrop."
Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure acknowledged the donation, stating: "We're honoured that Mary's family has entrusted us with this wonderful painting.
"The Rouken Glen Redwood is now proudly displayed in a room that hosts a variety of art activities and other events and will serve as an inspiration for current and future art enthusiasts."
Mary, a Glasgow School of Art graduate, was a keen community contributor and an educator.
The 'Rouken Glen Redwood' artwork can be viewed on request, or during Eastwood House's events.
